Luciano did not try to sell me a new roof. Appreciated the honesty — he showed up when he said he would.
We had a leak diagnosed by two other contractors who could not find the source. Blue Knight found it on the first visit and fixed it the same week.
Flat roof replacement on a commercial unit. Clean, fast, no surprises on the invoice. The crew left the site cleaner than they found it.
Called after a storm damaged our roof. Someone was on site within hours, tarped everything, and had us fully repaired before the next rain.
Had a slow basement leak for years. Every other company just caulked it. Blue Knight found the actual source and did a proper waterproofing job. No issues since.
Our neighbours recommended them for a valley repair. Small job, but they treated it like it mattered — showed up on time, matched the shingles perfectly, and charged exactly what they quoted.

Basement Waterproofing questions for Oshawa.
Sealing a single foundation crack by injection generally costs $500 to $1,500. A full interior drainage system is typically $5,000 to $15,000, and exterior foundation waterproofing is priced once we have seen the depth, access and soil. Every quote is written and follows an inspection.
Damp-proofing is a thin coating, usually tar-based, that slows moisture through a wall but will not stop water under pressure. Waterproofing uses a membrane that bridges small cracks and resists that pressure, paired with drainage at the footing. Older Oshawa foundations were typically only damp-proofed, which is why so many of them now let water through.
Yes, but the method depends on the wall. Block and stone walls can be weakened by a long open excavation, so we check for bowing, loose mortar and cracking first, then choose between exterior work done in short sections and an interior drainage system with a sump.
It is one of the first things we check on older Oshawa houses. Buried downspout pipes either feed the weeping tile or have broken underground, and both put roof water right at the footing, so rerouting them onto the surface well away from the house is often one of the cheapest fixes available.
Interior drainage is usually a 1 to 2 day job. Exterior excavation takes 3 to 5 days, depending on depth, the weather and how much room there is between closely spaced older houses.
Yes. We work on underground parking for condominium and apartment buildings, commercial basements and below-grade areas in industrial buildings, using traffic-rated membranes, joint sealing and crack injection, with documentation for the owner, board or property manager.
You do, in writing, tied to the specific system installed. We go through it with you before the job starts rather than handing it over at the end.
Oshawa's older neighbourhoods were built when a basement held the coal bin, the furnace and some storage, not living space. Foundations in Central Oshawa and O'Neill are commonly concrete block, early poured concrete or, on the oldest houses, stone and brick, often drained by clay weeping tile that has since collapsed or filled with silt. Many of these homes also had downspouts piped into the ground, sending roof water straight to the footing. Once a basement like that is finished, moisture that was tolerable in a storage cellar becomes a real problem.
The ground matters as well. North Oshawa rises onto clay till that drains slowly, so water that cannot soak away sits against the foundation. Houses along the Oshawa Creek valley and on lower ground toward the lake can see the water table climb in spring. In the postwar streets of Vanier, Donevan and Eastdale the usual issues are cracked poured walls, worn-out original damp-proofing and leaking window wells. In Taunton and Windfields, newer foundations tend to let water in at shrinkage cracks, form-tie holes and settled backfill.
Foundation Waterproofing for Oshawa's Older Homes
Waterproofing a 1930s or 1940s Oshawa foundation is a different job from waterproofing a modern one. The walls are thinner, the footings shallower, and the gap between houses can be too tight for an excavator. On these properties we often dig by hand in shorter runs, repair failed parging, apply a membrane and replace the old clay tile with new perforated drain set in clean stone. Where access or wall condition makes digging a poor choice, an interior system can manage the water without putting the foundation at risk.
When Water Comes Up Through the Basement Floor
Not every wet basement in Oshawa has a wall problem. On lower lots near Oshawa Creek and toward the lake, groundwater can rise under the slab in spring and push through the joint where floor meets wall, or through cracks in an old, thin floor. Sealing the walls does nothing for that. The fix is relieving the pressure from below: a drainage channel around the inside perimeter, a sump pit and pump sized for the inflow, and a discharge line that carries the water clear of the house and the neighbour's yard.
Basement Waterproofing in Oshawa Before You Finish or Add a Suite
Many buyers of older Oshawa homes plan to finish the basement or create a secondary suite, and that is the moment to deal with water. Drywall, carpet and insulation turn a minor seasonal damp patch into mould and a costly tear-out. Before a basement is finished we check the walls and floor for moisture, look at the grading and downspouts outside, and recommend what the space needs to stay dry, which might be as little as one crack repair and better drainage or as much as a full perimeter system.
