Standing Seam Metal Roofing
Concealed fasteners
Vertical panels joined at raised seams, with the fasteners hidden under the seam. The longest-lived residential roof we install.
Steel Roofing Panels
Ribbed & exposed-fastener
Ribbed steel panels for garages, outbuildings and commercial buildings, where cost matters more than a clean seam line.
Metal Roof Repair
Trim, seams, fasteners
Metal roof leaks start at trim, penetrations and backed-out fasteners. We reflash and refasten rather than smearing sealant over them.
Low-Slope Porches & Additions
Metal on shingle homes
Standing seam over a porch, bay or low-slope addition, where the pitch is too shallow for shingles to shed water reliably.
Snow Guards & Ice Management
Over doors and walkways
Metal sheds snow in one slide. Snow guards over entries, walkways and lower roofs keep it where it belongs.
Underlayment & Ventilation
What sits under the metal
High-temperature underlayment, ice and water protection at eaves and valleys, and balanced attic ventilation so condensation does not form under the panels.
A metal roof is a forty-year decision. Get both prices in writing first.

Honest material advice
Metal costs two to three times more than architectural shingles upfront. We price both and tell you when shingles are the better value.
Concealed-fastener systems
Exposed-fastener panels depend on thousands of rubber washers. Standing seam keeps the fasteners under the seam and out of the weather.
Snow and ice detailing
Metal sheds snow fast. Snow guards over entries and walkways, and ice and water protection at eaves and valleys, are part of every job.
Flashing detailed to the roof
Most metal roof leaks start at the trim, not the panels. Every wall, chimney and valley is flashed to the system, never caulked and left.
Written estimate and warranty
The itemized estimate names the panel, gauge and finish, and the warranty terms are in writing before we start.
“Most metal roofs that leak have perfectly sound panels. The water is getting in at a trim piece somebody caulked instead of flashing properly.”

Luciano did not try to sell me a new roof. Appreciated the honesty — he showed up when he said he would.
We had a leak diagnosed by two other contractors who could not find the source. Blue Knight found it on the first visit and fixed it the same week.
Flat roof replacement on a commercial unit. Clean, fast, no surprises on the invoice. The crew left the site cleaner than they found it.
Called after a storm damaged our roof. Someone was on site within hours, tarped everything, and had us fully repaired before the next rain.
Had a slow basement leak for years. Every other company just caulked it. Blue Knight found the actual source and did a proper waterproofing job. No issues since.
Our neighbours recommended them for a valley repair. Small job, but they treated it like it mattered — showed up on time, matched the shingles perfectly, and charged exactly what they quoted.

Metal roofing questions.
Expect a standing seam metal roof to cost two to three times what the same roof would cost in architectural shingles, which on a typical GTA home runs $9,000 to $22,000. Steel panel roofs on garages and outbuildings cost less than standing seam. We give an itemized written price after measuring the roof and checking the deck.
A properly installed standing seam roof lasts 40 to 70 years in southern Ontario, against 25 to 35 for architectural shingles. What shortens it is the wrong gauge, exposed fasteners and cheap paint finishes, which is why our estimate names all three.
Metal lasts about twice as long and sheds snow well, but costs two to three times more upfront. For most GTA homes architectural shingles remain the better value. For a long-term owner, a low-slope section, or a house where the look suits, metal often wins. We price both and let the numbers decide.
Not over a solid deck. Metal installed over plywood or OSB with underlayment and an insulated attic sounds much like any other roof from inside the house. The drumming people remember comes from metal fastened over open framing on barns and sheds.
Sometimes, but we rarely recommend it. Layering over shingles hides the condition of the deck, traps any moisture already in it, and some panel manufacturers will not warranty it. Tearing off to the deck lets us replace soft sheathing and install proper ice and water protection first.
Yes. Most metal roof leaks are at trim, flashing, penetrations or fasteners that have backed out rather than in the panels. We trace the leak, reflash or refasten the failed detail, and replace damaged panels with a matched profile and colour where one is available.
Yes, across the GTA, including Mississauga, Hamilton, Vaughan, Markham, Oakville, Milton, Newmarket, Oshawa and Scarborough, and on estate homes and outbuildings in King City and the other Oak Ridges Moraine communities.
