We trace first
Every job starts with a full trace from interior stain back to the roof. We find the source before touching anything.
Written reports
You receive a written diagnostic report with photos, suitable for insurance, lenders, and property management files.
25+ years experience
Two and a half decades on GTA roofs means we've seen every failure mode across every building type in the region.
No upsells
We don't sell replacements when repairs are appropriate. Our invoice reflects what the building actually needs.
60-min emergency
Active leaks get same-day priority dispatch, around the clock, including nights and weekends.
Permanent repairs
We use manufacturer-matched materials and test the repair before we leave. No waiting for the next rain.

Luciano did not try to sell me a new roof. Appreciated the honesty — he showed up when he said he would.
We had a leak diagnosed by two other contractors who could not find the source. Blue Knight found it on the first visit and fixed it the same week.
Flat roof replacement on a commercial unit. Clean, fast, no surprises on the invoice. The crew left the site cleaner than they found it.
Called after a storm damaged our roof. Someone was on site within hours, tarped everything, and had us fully repaired before the next rain.
Had a slow basement leak for years. Every other company just caulked it. Blue Knight found the actual source and did a proper waterproofing job. No issues since.
Our neighbours recommended them for a valley repair. Small job, but they treated it like it mattered — showed up on time, matched the shingles perfectly, and charged exactly what they quoted.

Roof Repair questions for Whitby.
If water is coming in, we aim to be on your roof the same day you call, and in most cases the entry point is sealed or tarped on that first visit. Repairs that are not actively leaking are usually booked within 2 to 5 business days.
On the older central and south Whitby homes it is usually flashing at chimneys and walls, cracked vent boots and worn valleys. On north Whitby and Brooklin homes it is more often an installation shortcut, such as a missing kick-out flashing at the bottom of a roof-to-wall joint, high nailing, or a poorly woven valley.
Usually close, rarely perfect. Shingle colours are revised and discontinued, and a roof that has weathered for years will never match fresh material exactly, so we bring samples, place repairs where they are least visible, and tell you before we start if the difference will show.
Yes. Flat and low-slope sections are common on Whitby garages, rear additions and the retail plazas along Dundas Street and Thickson Road. Membranes tend to let water in at a lap seam, a drain or a rooftop unit curb, so we trace the path back to that point instead of patching over the stain.
Yes. After the diagnosis you receive a written estimate that names the scope and materials, with photographs of what we found. We do not quote roof repairs over the phone, because the price depends on what is actually under the shingles.
If the covering still has life in it and the leak traces to one flashing, vent or valley, a repair is usually the better value. When we find widespread granule loss, curled shingles or soft decking in several places, we put that in writing and explain why a patch would only buy a season or two.
Every repair comes with a written report and dated photos showing the damage, the cause and the finished work. If a wind event caused it rather than ordinary wear, the report says so, which is the distinction an insurer will look for.
Whitby's roofs fall into two broad groups, and they fail in different ways. The established neighbourhoods of central and south Whitby, built mostly from the 1960s through the 1980s, are now on their second or third roof. Leaks there usually come from details carried over from one reroof to the next: chimney counter flashing set into mortar that has since eroded, plumbing vents with cracked rubber boots, and drip edge that was never replaced. The shingles can look fine from the street while the metalwork underneath them is decades older.
North Whitby is the opposite case. Williamsburg, Rolling Acres and the newer Brooklin subdivisions went up quickly on open former farmland, and many of those roofs were installed at production pace. We find step flashing missing where a garage roof meets the house wall, shingles nailed too high so they lift in the first strong west wind, and valleys where the shingles were cut short. Because the roof is young, the fix is usually correcting an installation shortcut rather than replacing worn material, and the written diagnosis says which it is.
Roof Repair in Whitby, From Downtown to the Lake
Downtown Whitby and the streets around Port Whitby hold the town's oldest houses, some of them from the 1800s, and they need a different approach from the subdivisions. These roofs are often steep, carry one or two masonry chimneys, and sit on board sheathing with several generations of repairs layered across it. We check the decking wherever we can reach it, rebuild flashing into sound mortar rather than smearing sealant over it, and tell you plainly when a small leak points to a larger problem.
Closer to the water, south of the 401 around the harbour and toward Lynde Shores, wind off Lake Ontario is the main stress on a roof. It works at ridge caps, the first course along the eaves and anything facing south or west. Repairs there get extra attention to sealing and fastening at the edges, because a patch that holds in a sheltered Brooklin backyard can peel back on an exposed lakeside lot after a single hard storm.
What Same-Day Roof Repair Looks Like in Whitby
When a leak is active, the first visit has two jobs: stop the water and establish the cause. We trace from the stain on the ceiling up into the attic and out to the roof surface, because water often runs along a rafter or the underside of the deck before it drips. Once the entry point is found we make it watertight, photograph it and leave you a written note of what failed. If the permanent fix needs something we do not carry, such as a discontinued shingle colour, we say so and book the return visit.
Skylights, Vents and Other Roof Penetrations
Every opening cut through a roof is a place where water can get in, and most Whitby houses have more of them than people expect: skylights, plumbing stacks, exhaust vents, satellite mounts and the odd abandoned antenna bracket. Skylights added during a later renovation deserve particular attention, since they tend to leak at the curb flashing or through a failed seal in the unit itself. We check whether the flashing was installed to suit the skylight, reseal or replace boots as needed, and remove old brackets properly rather than leaving the screw holes open to the weather.
